ACT I — Before HackOps
Ten students drifted across campus like signals on a network, each leaving traces: a thread, a commit, a blog post. Individually they were small and often ignored—but together their footprints formed a map. The quiet months before HackOps felt empty because everything was possible. Those late-night notes and half-open repos were the raw material of a community waiting to be assembled. A single curious mind, reaching, could change trajectories.

A misconfiguration appeared—small but telling. The Tech Lead posted a breakdown not for praise but to protect. The post found the future President, who replied with intent rather than critique. That DM—short, humble, decisive—became a pact. The two realized they could move beyond patching reactive fixes toward creating a culture of prevention. It was the seed of an operation.

A steady observer appeared—the future Vice President—bringing scripts and the habit of thinking in systems.
